  • Overview

Federal Realty is a proven leader in the ownership, operation, and redevelopment of high quality retail real estate in the country's best markets. We believe we are one of the most innovative and dynamic real estate companies you can work for. Interested candidates who research Federal Realty hear a lot about the high quality shopping centers and mixed use centers. Our well respected real estate team is at our core, but it's the smaller intangible things that can make working at Federal so satisfying. You see, while we're one of the largest publicly traded real estate investment trusts in the country, as measured by the value of our shopping centers, we're really a very small company by most standards and we try to operate that way. That means that team members with initiative and ability can get involved in many facets of our business over the years.

Federal Realty Investment Trust is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial and analytical support to maximize value creation for the Western Region’s real estate portfolio. This person will work closely with the Asset Management, Leasing, Lease Administration, and Corporate Finance teams, develop a strong foundation in real estate financial analysis, and gain critical modeling skills. Although the portfolio is predominantly retail focused, this position will also gain exposure to multi-family, office, and the dynamics of a mixed-use environment. The ideal candidate has a solid grasp of both accounting and financial valuation; is very detail-oriented with an eye towards accuracy; exhibits resourcefulness, tenacity, and database savviness; and can quickly synthesize information and execute under tight deadlines. This position is located at Santana Row in San Jose, CA.

    • Assist in preparation of financial analyses for Investment Committee memoranda
    • Assist in testing system migrations and validating reports

    • Solid understanding of accounting and financial valuation concepts (financial ratios, IRR, NPV, etc.)
    • Proven self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail while under tight deadlines
    • Must be a team player with the proven ability to work effectively in teams
